My usual beast ;)

Playing with Carrara 6 I stuck my usual beast model in and am just playing around for now. One day he may actually be used for something.

Cheers

Looks great - love the details too!

How did you do the grass - is it the hair shader?

Yes all the grass is standard Carrara grass with the shader tweaked.

Cheers

Very cartoon y effect, just like a scene from a 3d movie.

Two things to, maybe, look at. Would the timber railing look better if less of a contrasty pattern?
Would the animal look better if the colours in the body and horn were "softer"?
Just ideas to experiment with. Brilliant drawing of the scene mate!

Nice work - this could be a cover for children's book or coloring book

Very good image, try to disable the shadows for one of your lights, it looks like there were many suns in the scene

great work

Most of this is very much wip and testing. The fence has not been uvmapped yet. I always stick placeholders on for tweaking later. Just a weird way i work.

I will upload the tree so you can see how simple it actually is later on.

Cheers

I second Sadot's comment about the multiple shadows, and Brian + Stu's about the fence. I'd shade each part of the fence individually so the veins are parallel to the length.

Then maybe move the tree directly behind the beast's head out of the way.

Excellent image though.

Sorry for the delay. I am in the middle of transferring all my pc stuff over to a mac. (Finally did it).

If I remember rightly I don't think that 'fence' had been uvmapped at that point. It will change, rest assured, when I am up and running again.

Cheers
