Redneck Hex-to-Zee WIP

Experimenting with a workflow between Hexagon for base meshing and Z brush for detailing and texturing. Software and process for rendering and displacement map import solution still undetermined.

Much more to do on this one.

Looking good so far.
Will we see a finished illustration using this fella?

Out of interest have you tried the retopologize method where you start of with a sphere in ZBrush, sculpt freely then capture the lower rez mesh.

I can't cos I don't have version 3 but something tells me this approach would suite you very well as it allows you consider the caricature first and the technical bit last.

OOPS!
I'm neck deep in some heavy projects - - -
Looks like I missed a couple posts... sorry...

@ Aunty...
I have fiddled with the retopo stuff, as well as doing the modeling straight from a sphere. I think if I had more practice with these tools, I would be more proficient... for the time being I am so comfy with Hexagon that I just like building most of my base in Hex, then importing to Z.

One difference now is the posing of the character - No longer have to worry about that in Hexagon, I can make my character in a neutral position and use Z's moving and repositioning along with the masks to bend the critters to the desired contortions. .... (If I get too wild with that, some retopo would be needed.)
@ TaNoff....
Aww, shucks... you're making me blush....
Take a look through the forum at Aunty Betty's stuff... and others... you will find a great number of talented folks hanging out here.
Thanks a big bunch!
