OK, time to move on to my favorite Eva-00, the funny thing is I can’t really justify in the design sense why I like this Eva the best, perhaps partly because it’s blue, but I also like the “compact” look of the head, it’s somehow looks more “practical” compared with the other two.

The interesting thing is in design, one is taught that having a strong silhouette is a good thing, something that the Eva-00 isn’t very good in compared to the Eva-01 and Eva-02 but I don’t care, it’s my favorite, end of argument, ha ha ha

Created a brief sketch to guide me in the eventual material implementation of the Eva-00.
So excited, another Eva is about to be born in my hard drive. Ha ha ha

Currently modeling the Eva-00 head.
It’s not too much of a challenge for it consist of mainly flat surfaces, hence, the only
thing I will need to concerned myself with is the quality of the fillet effect when two flat surfaces meet.

When I’m modeling this head, I’m already wondering how I should approach the modeling of the Eva-02 head because I believe
it’s by far the most challenging to model of the three Eva heads for it is very organic…a lot of curves…must look for definitions….

Thanks Rickei, friend

Ok life is good, this part is done.

I really regret the stupid idea that this project will be an overwhelming shower of the brush metal material, this idea arose when I was looking at one of those brush metals and I ask myself “hmmm wouldn’t it be nice if I create a project entirely based on this material ?!”

It’s a stupid stupid idea !

It’s ok if the object to be given this material is a simple cylinder or something equally primitive in shape but this Eva is an entire robot that is pretty organic looking and I have three of those to handle.

I’ve to strain my eyes just to see if all the UV squares are the same size to maintain the consistent look of the brush metal strokes throughout the different parts.
Seams are going to be obvious because as it’s not a plain texture, the stroke is going to look strange when they collide with each other unless they run in parallel.

I also felt trapped by the fact that it sometime feels I am setting up the UV for the brush metal strokes and the decals have to play with whatever is the result of that UV setup.

Of course I can multi-layer the texture maps via map channels but I really don’t like to complicate this area, I’ll render to texture everything so that in the end, I only have one map channel. Keep it simple.

Note to self, stay away from brush metal materials, they are evil…

Hey behzad, tried to private message you but your settings seems to not allow that.

So how do you expect me to tell you how is it going ?
Unless you want superficial answers
