| Screwdriver [ Hex 2.2 & CS5P] {Hexagon newbie}
I don't know why this didn't post the first time. So I will repost it again. This was my first Hexagon creation after I started learning the software last week. Enjoy. Also any comments are welcome. *update* Using Carrara, I figured how to do transparent material ( glass like ) with partial texture. Was a little nuts getting the effect I needed. Now I have a textured handle!

Looks great, nice job on the shaders as well. Are the little wings that extrude from the end of the metal shaft on the handle end in their? They keep the handle from twisting around the shaft when torque is applied, I can't quite tell. You're going for realistic so that's why I ask. I went ahead and deleted you're duplicate thread of the screwdriver. |

No wings, the shaft is square and forced into a hole that is too small. Just like the real thing sitting right next to me.

Heh, this is my weekend to work with the software. ![]() Um, I have been using 3d modeling software starting at.. 1994? My first program was POV-Ray, moved over to Bryce 2, then Bryce 3, 4, 5 & 3DSMax. Finally got Carrara 1.1 then Carrara 2 & 2.5. Also messed with Amapi a little, but didnt like it much. I went on hiatus from 2003 until now 2007. I played with Maya for a while, but many things bothered me, the program was too big for just 1 person... too much to keep under ones hat. Now I use Hex 2.2 & Carrara 5 pro. ![]() So really, my skills are way below where they should be. Anyway, thank you for you noticing.

No, only what I had posted. http://forums.polyloop.net/hexagon-t...river-set.html I did look at this before I attempted mine, though I wanted to make a copy of a real screwdriver. The tutorial has most everything I did though.

Nicely rendered, I do have an issue with banding on the floor plane though, one of the reasons I have gone away from C5, but there are otheres here who might be able to give you better advice

| Yea, I noticed that too... That shadow banding shows up real noticeable in the original size 3636 x 1900.
