Hex/Kerkythea O'er I've smashed the mesh - WIP

Well I've started on my forth model. Being a bit more careful now, but having seen the results perhaps not careful enough.

Fig 1 shows a top elevation of the basic framework.

Fig 2 side elevation, well sort of.

I then did a trial conversion and squirted it into Terragon TG2 just to see. OK, more or less what I am aiming at. Never claimed any talent. see Fig 3.

But then I decided to repeat the exercise in Kerkythea. Whoops! something not quite right. see Fig 4. I dropped in the bit map of the moon to give a better sillouette.

So, if it was the model I would have thought that it would have blown apart in Terragon as it also alters everything into triangles the same as Kerkythea. Any suggestions please?

Hmmm. Try exporting it as a .obj file. The triangulation is because terragen works in triangles, and the model is made some other way (NURBS? I don't recognise the modeller, guessing Hex).

It was, in fact the exact same .obj file was used for both the TG2 and the Kerky' renders.

However, further examination of the mesh revealed too many odd faces. So I've started again.
