Another electric drill...

This is still a work in progress. Blender all the way. Take it or leave it.

I'll take it. I like the case for it it looks great semi hard edges. Might be fun to make one of these.

Hot looking drill, nice modeling. I dont know much about blender... do you have to put extra edge loops into the corners to get a hard edge or can you crease an edge in the render?

Great job on the drill, I hope those were just test renders, it really deserves a great product style rendering. Can you show your wires?

Blender...

As much as I would have liked to focus on modeling, this is not about it at all. This is about a theme, which is the name of the software I'm using. I was trying to make a mockup of a Blender book cover.

I would have liked to add extra details on the body, but, man, it ain't easy. I'm still trying to figure out how to add small details without affecting the main body. Like if you add an extra edge to sharpen an edge, that extra edge goes all the way around the main object, which you don't need. I've seen a solution or technique to get around this. I think at subdivisionmodeling.com or some site I don't remember. I suspect that you have to add triangles if you must.

To me, it really doesn't matter what software you use. It's about knowing what subdivision modeling is all about. It's about knowing how to get around its limitations. Cheat if you must. I'm still learning.

Still a work in progress... So many things to work on...
