I've done a lot of packaging and this is a pretty nice one. But here are my comments anyway:
- Since most Carrara sales are downloads, Daz will probably won't bother with a package design (except for screen display)
- If they decide to sell it in a box, it'll probably be the smaller software boxes you see everywhere now (a touch bigger than a DVD case)
- Assuming they do retail in stores in this box, most casual buyers don't know Carrara so the package has to convey the power of the software. The image should be a showcase of the program's feature: person with hair, flowing fabric, landscape, trees, depth of field, metal, glass, etc, (hopefully a ton more features)... and since it's Daz, add a little cleavage . Adobe can get away with a more abstract design because they're well recognized. For Carrara, your package has to educate the potential buyer more.
- The right side of the cloud is a little droopy. I'd keep it bubbly and energetic.
- Check the Carrara 6 font on the back panel. and leave room for the "PRO".
- For printing, you should add a 1/4" bleed around the entire package, no ink where there'll be glue, and the dust flaps are usually white, but there's no reason for that. The printer will hate having to line up the color change on the top and bottop panel with the folds. I'd at least change the bottom to the darker green.
- Of course, the logo will have to change to Daz3D and there should be a space for the bar code.
- For the render, a slight bevel on the box edge would be nice. ShaderPlus's bevel works great for this type of projects. Or you can add a quick highlight in Photoshop

That's a mild understatement. It saves a little money not printing the dust flaps. After all we don't print a carton one up, we print them as many up, interlocked on the sheet as we can practically accomplish.

Just printed the package at kinkos, I'm pretty satified with the results. I used the original cardborad box to support the structure.

I also did a CD label, to see what it would look like.

I did a slim version, which won't carry the manual. I don't know if I should printed or not. it's just the same except that one of the side panel won't have the import and export files, just the requirements.
