Test mesh(Nudity)

This is an animation test mesh I started some time ago. I have been busy renovating my house and studying the various softwares for so long I almost stop modelling so I do this for fun. I know its not art but I plan to use this mesh to test workflow through into other software otherwise I never learn properly.

What apps are you planning to test this nice piece of modelling in Tony?

Hi Brian, I am trying to learn maya and zbrush. It is not the modelling that I find so hard, but texturing, transferring displacement maps, the rigging and rendering technicalities, they take a lot of time and I keep making mistakes. One understands why they have so many specialists to make a movie. This workflow it is something to become as one with or otherwise I waste a lot of time.

Tony I wish you luck in your aim. Tryingto go to "higher" level apps seem to me as always going from the frying pan into the fire. I have decided that apps are not necessaruly assembled (note) by logical people.

Good ideas are destroyed by woeful integrations!

Cheers Crazy Wabbit for your comments. (maybe I leave some room for a cottontail ) I will work the ass more with Z brush. I not look at too many asses before. I did this by eye without a reference plane image so I do some navel gazing and check my anatomy book. The navel generally sits halfway between the base of the sternum and the crotch so I think that is OK, but I think the thighs and legs are a little overlong. The character is a little streched out for rigging, maybe I can weight him down a little bit when animated. Your thoughts on this are welcome.
Brian. I agree, both these softwares look and work like they have been cobbled together from spare parts, like Frankensteins monster. However they do have some extraordinary capabilities, as you see from the excellent work by the very talented people who have mastered them. Im learning lots of new stuff, so I find it really exciting. I hope that if I do the apprenticeship it will help me longer term

My admiration for your work done so far. 3D is about the hardest thing you can attempt when it comes to the digital arts and your progress is impressive.

Look forward to seeing how your rigging goes .

Thanks guys. I work for quite a while on this old female model to fix the face mesh and other things. Im pretty happy now with both the male and female meshes, I have been testing right through to maya, and back again. Z3 next.

PS Could moderator please add "nudity" to title, thanks, Tony

Hiya.

Pretty good so far. A little bit off in a few areas (proportion wise), but definitly good.

However... ...if you are planing to animate them, you will have some problems with mesh creasing. You will likely need to add some more geometry with a good edge-flow to the areas that will recieve the most 'bending' (crotch, knee, elbow, etc.).

Keep it up though, looking good! :D

Bugger , and I spent all day yesterday redoing the UVs, maybe id better test the rigging a bit more before starting the texturing. I have been using a subd proxy and its beenn flattening in the elbows a bit. I find if I put in too much geometry it takes a very long time to paint and adjust the skin weights accurately. Cheers Tony.

yes "nudity" is like a signpost for the curious, however it is a convention which seems to be used by most responsible site owners, for better or worse.

I had some complains from some users before, because some thread didn't include nudity. Solt, a lot of americans don't see nudity as we see it (they don't hae the Obao / Tahiti douche / rocher cavailles and other TV advert to train them )

WIP

some clothing to keep everyone happy, theres going to be more armour on top, weapons etc. Spend so much time stuffing around in new fancy software that its good to get back to some plain polypushing. This is shadow view in Hex 2.2 by the way
