| An On-line Comic
Gday everybody, I have finally finished my website dedicated to teaching cartoon art. An important part of this site is the on-line graphic novel, created by building scenes in Carrara, framing each panel, rendering, then compositing, adding text etc in photoshop. Because I am new to 3D the characters are mostly simple head shapes painted over in photoshop. (Except for Mr Hunter in this page... built with polys in Hex 2.1) You can view more by going to www.cartoonartclub.com and clicking on "read the on-line comic". In these pages the heroes are simple shapes without features, positioned, rendered, then 'drawn' in photoshop using a Cintiq tablet. This scene is huge with 3 planets (one with clouds and atmosphere), about 60 ships and things... even my G5 quad was slow repositioning the camera for shot changes. Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Wolf Last edited by wolfriver; 29th October 2006 at 15:59. Reason: adding atttachment |

Thanks. Do you think the lighting is strong enough? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve it? It doesn't quite feel vibrant enough or something to me. Thanks, Wolf

Yes you're right. I'll think Will Eisner when I light my scenes. I greatly admire his work.

I like the smoke dialogue balloons. They really capture the attention and spirit you are going for here. I like them better than the tech-no lettering used just before. I think lettering should go as organic as possible to compensate for it's digital origins . Will Eisner style is a good match here too.

Gday everybody, I've posted some more pages from my comic in 'Finished Works'. I would greatly appreciate any comments or critiques. I really want to make this as good as I possible can and any advice will help. Thanks
