OMG go to xara pro extreme, it cost less than 150 bucks
and it is worth in gold

do it, don't wait
it puts illustrator to shame.

I been using it for 10 years
even the first version was more powerful than illustrator.

http://www.xara.com/products/xtreme/default.asp

Extreme is perfect the pro version is for pantone usage and some flash.

I really like it. I use it now for my business rather than using illustrator.
There are improvements, mostly pdf export and pantone color features.
Read up on it at xara site. They have the demo which you can download.
