modo 301 soon

Today Saturday May 12, 2007 there is a rumour going on at the Luxogy forums that a major announcement is coming about modo 301.
A video clip will be available soon for register luxology customers.

http://forums.luxology.com/discussio....aspx?id=17018

I figure I'll just give you the heads up.

I got 103 and then next day updated (preordered) 301 and on the website it said my credit card wouldn't be charged until it shipped or something like that and it got charged anyway. I was half expecting to see an email when I got home last night, but nuthin. :\

Did others get charged right away too? It's no big deal or anything, but I was just curious.

This has been discussed at daz's site, that Lux made an error and charged a lot of people if not all pre-orderers. They refunded anyone asking for it.

Markku thanks for the information, I just wanted to make sure something didn't hack my credit card, because it has already been charged and Lux said they wouldn't until ship date. (I keep a close eye on my dough).

I don't mind that they did this really as it was money spent anyway, I just wanted to find out for sure..

Thanks again,

C

No problem - I'm amazed though that Lux still does it, because they spotted their error days ago. And if you purchased just now, then they are slow to switch off their money vacuumer.

After C6, M301 sure is the next big thing to be waiting for.

Did you buy the seahorse tutorial ($25) as well?
I ask because if you did so before the release of 301 they would refund you the tutorial cost. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I think it was mentioned in one of Peebler's modcasts, but I cannot find a written proof of such on their site.

Do you know anything about it?

I wonder if this means just what I mentioned before: "Please note: this video will provided as free content to modo 301 owners", - quote taken form here:http://www.luxology.com/store/training_series05.aspx

aww shucks . But I am only a Modo noobie. i haven't had the time to learn it since i bought it early this year. Now i am really spending my time in it for some work projects, and the rendering absolutely rocks! For the modeling I'm mildly comfortable with it... I'm glad to see all this interest in Modo at Polyloop. Hopefully we'll start seeing some good renders and animations posted in the galleries here!

I got pre-order offer not in a couple of days after modo 103 ordering, but in a 4 hours.
Watta rush. Maybe you right?

But maybe, it's just a night in America, the database is updated.

Another good reason to buy it now is that ImageSynth plugin will not be free anymore once 301 is released...
It took me some time to learn how to use it, but I really like it...

Schbeurd, that's interesting info, because even when I had not thought about buying modo, I thought about ImageSynth.
So... I did it just in time.

Schbeurd, are you sure?

"imageSynth is included FREE with every purchase of modo. And now you can buy it standalone." From here

..from luxology forum :
,,And here is an official attempt to be clear re; eligibility for imageSynth.

<putting on official Luxology hat/more like a beanie>

imageSynth did not ever come with modo 103

If you purchased or upgraded to modo 20x, imageSynth was and is included. If you upgrade to 203 from 103, this also includes 301. So this is the route recommended if you bought 103 and want imageSynth and modo 301.

If you directly upgraded to 301 from 103, no imageSynth is supplied.

imageSynth will continue to be developed and sold actively as a separate product. In fact, this end of the bundle is indicative of imageSynth growing up to live "on its own".

ok, now it's clear. thanks

So, they found a way to compensate their $100 mistake in upgrade price
