thanks jb, carroza.
As for the snapping tools - didn't use them that much as part of this tut. I did find that snapping to the polygon was more useful than vertices for a few things.
It's strange though, each time I tried Blender I just couldn't seem to get started and you like it. Yet when I tried modo it just seemed to 'fit' better. modo has a certain way of working that you need to get into. This has been said a number of times and now I know why

you either like it or you don't. There is a thread on the luxology forums:
http://forums.luxology.com/discussio....aspx?id=27159
that makes interesting reading on this subject.
I think that to get the most out of modo you need to work with it and get really familiar with the way it works. I'm working my way through the tutorials and it is really helping a lot.
Of course that's the problem - you only get 30 days. I was off work for several weeks and plunked down $25 for the InFocus and then another 25 for the watch tutorial. I had short listed modo and C4D and had demos of both. I hardly touched C4D during that time so Luxology got my money.
Oops getting a bit off track here now
anyway, at first galnce it doesn't seem to be the best snapping system in modo - I'll need to work with a bit more to see if it is just another example of getting into te modo way.
