My Carrara version its the same that all the people have (at last in this forum) Im not longer a Carrara beta
The wire-spheres are just a Deformer (the Zone object) detached from the controller
The wire squares are IK objects again detached from the skeleton and scaled to 0% in one axis
The blue controllers have Deformer objets in the body but are hiden
I made some limits and the squares are just a visual guide for me
