There can be many benefits to having a good set of modeling and UV tools within your render engine. Seperating your modeler, UV mapper, and render engine means that any changes to the model might require a new import, UV remapping, and retexturing. But in the case of sculpting and texturing, you only need to update a texture image. So i don't think you are losing much productivity by having an external sculptor/texturer such as ZB...
