The ships and characters are built in Carrara... well the characters are simple shapes that are 'drawn over' in photoshop.
Each panel is positioned and rendered in carrara, transferred into photoshop and 'finished off'.
Some panels are entirely built and rendered in Carrara (the first six or seven pages of the comic, viewable from the link in thie original post).
