actually it's one of the first things discussed in the manual from version 201. The toolpipe is really important thing to understand in Modo if you want to get the full use of the toolset... One more thing related to tools which you should really learn is the macro recording and toolpipe "save preset". If you do a lot of repeating actions, this could save you lots of time...
