you say top half then bottom half using the polyline
not sure why you didnt say draw a polyline around the guitar body out line
do you mean front and back?

you say
(Then connect the two using the ruled surface tool)
so you saying to connect the upper half and lower half polyline upper and lower
or front and back

if you mean upper half and lower half then why not just draw a polyline around the hole thing and close the gap..

if you mean front and back drawing a polyline
why not do the front and copy it and paste the front and use it for the back?
OR fAST extrude it?

you say
(You have already extruded the front before tesselating across and then you just closed the back)

how can i tesselating if its not extruded and a closed gap and its just still a line.
