The only thing missing really is hair,network rendering and behavior(crowd simulation). True enough you can't upgrade but the next versions have had big steps each time in functionality. Their are some frustrations with learning it for me anyway, but I focus on the animate/render area beacause I model in Hex/Amapi so that helped.
