I'm getting more and more interested in using Zbrush (famous for organic modeling) when it comes to non-organic models. Meats Meier's
sample images are hard to ignore. And the rendering.... it closely resembles my taste, the shiny very reflective theme. The level of details is just astounding.
And it's about time treating Zbrush not only capable of sculpting organically, but mechanically.
(Zbrush's major drawback, though, is that there seems to be no clear definition of space. There is no camera to move around the usual world space most 3d apps have. I have no idea how units are measured to establish proportion.)
