Personally, I think that this release is a huge step up from the last release (7.11). Overall, the program still lacks polish. I will be watching trueSpace closely to see if it continues to add the feature I would like to see implemented.
Your best bet if you are evaluating trueSpace is to get help on a forum with people who can at least answer some of your basic questions and then experiment from there. Basically, just let your mouse hover over the workSpace (or Model) icons and read their descriptions. The icons with the little red triangle have flyouts. There are trueSpace users who are here who would probably answer questions.
