I'm taking from your reply with that fact that it 'sticks' you that you think that somthing unfair happened. Allen and Stuart and Gregory owned the copyrights to most of the code that made up LW7. They took what was thiers and built from there (hoping to continue publishing it as a reborn LW), Newtek wasen't cool with that, and after either a settlement between the parties or a court imposed one Newtek was allowed to continue development from the LW7 code base, and Allen, Stuart and Gregory were free to continue development of thier code as they wished elsewhere.
I think it's unfortunate that modo isn't just LWx or whatever, but that business I guess.
